One Of Dover Oldest Pubs Until Its Demolition In 1970 to make way for the
York Street Road and White Cliffs Experience building. The small oblong shape
on the corner of the building just be below the pub sign was a plaque marking
the old 'Cow Gate' in the Old Town Wall.Formally Blacksmiths Arms and Carpenters Arms

The sketch above I found tucked into an old Dover book that I brought, it is just signed 'Robson'
with no date but it is very similar to the photograph above there are however some
deference in the windows
The demolition of this ancient building was nothing short of architectural vandalism,
the land where this old historic pub once stood is still unused.
