On the 1st Sep 1942 my grandfathers fiancee died he was sent this photo via the Red Cross, the grave is at St Andrews Church Buckland Dover. Must have cheered him up no end! ![]() ![]()

![]() POW's Captured at 'Guines' Northern France 31st May 1940, whilst trying to hold the Germans back while the beaches were evacuated. My grandfather far right, after their capture they then started the "Great March" which in his case finished in Warsaw Poland. They then started the long five years as POW's in Germany and Poland.
